OUR VETERINARIANS

Dre Véronique Néron

Dre Véronique Néron

Dr. Néron graduated in 2004 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal and has been working with us since then. Since 2020, she has been contributing to improve the practice of veterinary medicine by also working for the Ordre des Médecins Vétérinaires du Québec.
Her passion continues to be general practice, with a focus on providing care for each animal and owner, as well as interests in both medicine and surgery. Owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lyla, presented here, she regularly brings her to work with her.

Dre Valérie Bouchard

Dre Valérie Bouchard

A 2008 graduate of the University of Montréal, Dr. Bouchard joined the Hôpital Vétérinaire Mercier team in 2014.
Veterinary medicine is the perfect combination of two of her great passions: animals and medicine. Dr. Bouchard is known for being a good listener, empathetic and gentle. She is particularly fond of general medicine because it allows her to develop a special bond with owners and to see their furry companions grow up.
Dr. Bouchard appreciates the team spirit and sense of humour of her colleagues. She is always up for a good laugh and to pet grey cats…. Don’t tell the others, but they are her favourite patients. In fact, Dre Bouchard is accompanied here by her cat Pablo.

Dr Briar Spinney

Dr Briar Spinney

Originally from Baie Sainte-Marie in Nova-Scotia, Dr Spinney completed his studies in veterinary medicine at Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince-Edward-Island in 2019. Sharing his home with two perpetually hungry cats, he understands how nutrition plays a role in pet health and advocates for a global approach to veterinary medicine. Dr Spinney is pictured here with his cats Fred and George.

Dre Kaleigh Wakaluk

Dre Kaleigh Wakaluk

Originally from Prince Edward Island, Dre Wakaluk is a 2020 graduate from the Atlantic Veterinary College. Never shying away from a challenge, Dre Wakaluk chose to begin her career in Montreal by joining the Hôpital Vétérinaire Mercier team that same year, simultaneously fulfilling another lifelong goal of learning the French language.
At the hospital, she tries to always bring a positive energy to the day and has been so grateful for the Mercier team and her clients for instantly welcoming her to their long-standing family. She has loved her transition to her new life in Québec with her ménagerie of pets : 8 rats, 2 Guinea pigs, an albino hedgehog, and her socially anxious dog Duke, sometimes bringing them to work with her for the day for some extra cuddles.
Dre Wakaluk’s particular focus is general medicine with its wide variety of unique cases, as well as a particular interest in behaviour and client communication.

IN MEMORIAM

Dr Edward Gallagher

It is our regret to announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dr Edward Gallagher, who left us with heavy hearts on October 1st 2018. He was loved and respected by everyone he knew, friends, colleagues and the community.

Dr Gallagher you dedicated your life to animal health and we will continue this legacy in offering the best of care to our patients.
You left us too soon. We will miss you dearly.

A native of the west of Ireland, Dr Gallagher graduated from Tufts University in Boston in 1994 and soon began to practice veterinary medicine in the West Island of Montreal. Ready for a new challenge, he then took over as owner of Hôpital Vétérinaire Mercier in October 2009. He was known to have a soft spot for black cats and Scottish Terriers. Dr Gallagher is pictured here with his cat Bahia, a Tonkinese.
